Isn’t it easy to get caught up in what seemingly calls for immediate action, not the important? What about the calls to action that are coming from every direction without a solid plan for outcomes that will be truly supportive of solutions, not more problems? The last few weeks of media has worked hard to convince any taker that the world is coming to an end, all common sense is lost, and the authorities once developed to protect us cannot be trusted. Sometimes a step back is healthy for a more balanced perspective.
All or nothing mentality has rarely served anyone.
What we surround ourselves with, the people we surround ourselves with are what influences in our lives. Have you taken time out lately to consider who and what you are listening to? Have you stepped away enough from the rhetoric to do your own thinking, research, or study? Are you engaging in actions that matter for the family, community and activities that matter to you?
How we live our lives is a daily choice. We can take actions that move us towards a life we want to live, or we can simply fill our days with “stuff” that keeps us busy, but not productive or effective. If we’re not focused on desired outcomes of our life, it can be easy to drift into the ebb and flow of other’s agendas.
Isn’t it time you intentionally step away and consider how you’re spending your thoughts and actions? Our energy and time is a most precious commodity. Each of us have a limited supply to spend. Maybe its time to unplug, at least for a bit each day, and take time to heart what your heart and mind affirms.
