The inauguration brought another onslaught of individuals acting in poor taste. The child of the President was targeted in social media. Unkind pictures, comments, and comparisons were made.
Isn’t it time we start calling boundaries on unacceptable behavior against children? The rhetoric of late has been beyond good taste, strong character, or any other measurable forward focused meaning. There are legitimate issues at hand and none of them are resolved by cheap shots at anyone or by bullying those who do not agree with one side’s agenda.
One thing I am clear on: No one’s child should be the target of ridicule.
Personally, I’m actively working on ways to limit my exposure to the negativity of 24/7 media. There was a time when broadcasts were at 5 pm and 10 pm only. Our daily life was not assaulted with non stop negativity and opinion. Many in the community stressed and having difficulty with so much negative energy. It’s time to reset boundaries personally, professionally, and as community members.
What are you doing to define your own boundaries?
